  • What is a Registered Massage Therapist?
    A registered massage therapist (RMT) in British Columbia is a health professional regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC) under BC’s Health Professions Act.
  • What does it mean to be a Registered Massage Therapist?
    Being registered means that Melinda has completed all required education and has successfully passed provincial licensing examinations and is currently in good standing with the professional governing college (CMTBC)
  • Why does my initial appointment have to be 60 minutes?
    All initial appointments are set for a minimum of 60 minutes as Melinda will preform a thorough intake interview in order to create an appropriate plan / care tailored for your needs.
  • Do you offer direct billing?
    Yes, Melinda offers direct billing to - Pacific Blue Cross - Telus Health (Alberta Blue Cross, Beneva Inc., BPA-Benefit Plan Administrators, Canada Life, Canada Life - PSHCP, Canadian construction Workers Union, Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance, CINUP, Claim Secure, Coughlin & Associates Ltd, Cowan, D.A. Townley, Desjardins Insurance, Equitable Life of Canada, First Canadian, GMS Carrier 49, GMS Carrier 50, GroupHEALTH, GroupSource, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Inc, Johnston Group Inc, LiUNA Local 183, LiUNA Local 506, Manion, Manulife Financial, Maximum Benefit, People Corporation, RWAM Insurance Administrators, Simply Benefits, TELUS AdjudiCare, Union Benefits, UV Insurance). Please contact your plan to see if a Doctor's referral for massage therapy is required or massage therapy is set to bill directly. RMTs are not able to provide you with your plan's coverage.
  • Will my treatment be covered through medical? If so, how much?"
    Each plan is different, however the majority of extended medical plans cover registered massage therapy. How much depends on each individuals plan. Many extended health plans offer partial of full reimbursements for Massage Therapy. Consult your plan to see if a Doctor's referral for Massage Therapy is required. RMTs are not able to provide you with your plan's coverage.
  • What payments are accepted?
    Cash, debit, and e-transfer.
  • Is there a no show and/or cancellation fee?
    Yes. If you do not show for you appointment, or do not cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be billed for the full amount of your treatment. Please note that your extended health coverage does not cover this expense. Melinda appreciates that no one is perfect and there may be situations that occur that are out of your control (sudden illness, family emergencies, etc.), in which Melinda may make an exception to the above policies on those rare occasions.
  • What kind of massage will I receive?

  • Do I need a Doctor's referral?
    Absolutely not - you are not required to have a doctor's referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist unless it is required by your insurance company.
  • Do you accept MSP, ICBC or WCB claims?
    No.
  • What are your rates? Do they include GST?

  • What is the best way to book an appointment?
    The easiest way is to book yourself an appointment via Melinda's online booking system. If you are having trouble doing so, you can call Melinda directly for an appointment. Due to high scam/spam contacts, Melinda will return your call only if you leave a clear message.
  • Are there security cameras on the premises?
    Yes - the building exterior is equipped with video surveillance for mutual safety and protection. There are no security/video cameras in the treatment room or washroom for privacy reasons.
